Pietra Galli (b.1996 Brazil) is an interdisciplinary artist and writer based between London and Porto. She graduated with a BA in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Arts in 2018.
Her investigative practice reflects on the fluidity of cultural identities and intergenerational exchanges in the post-internet era. She creates semi-fictional narratives through ceramics, drawing, and writing from personal memories and from layers of history she observes in the day to day.
Since 2022, she has been running Amulet Making, a workshop in which she invites participants to translate their memories into portable ceramic pieces.
Recent exhibitions include ‘In Between Here and There, Us’ at SEASON Gallery and ‘Fertile Soil’ at V.O. Curations. In 2023, she was part of the collective research project ‘No More (Cruel) Optimism’ and was the co-editor of the project publication, published by Folium and launched at Tenderbooks. She is also the co-founder of the art duo Island Gravity, working between London and Porto on the creation of artist books and art exhibitions.

A sua prática reflete sobre a hibridez de identidades culturais e as relações intergeracionais dentro do pós-internet. Através de um olhar investigador analisa vestígios de outros tempos presentes em objetos e rituais do dia a dia, a partir dos quais cria narrativas auto-fictícias em desenho, cerâmica e escrita.
Desde 2022, desenvolve o projeto Oficina de Amuletos, no qual convida participantes a traduzirem suas memórias afetivas em peças de cerâmica. Busca, assim, explorar uma linguagem não verbal e desenvolver práticas de enraizamento.
Exposições recentes incluem ‘In Between Here and There, Us' na SEASON Gallery e ‘Fertile Soil, no V.O. Curations. No último ano, participou do projeto de pesquisa ‘No More (Cruel) Optimism’, no qual colaborou como artista, curadora e co-editora da publicação sob o mesmo título, lançada pela Folium e lançada na Tenderbooks. É também co-fundadora da dupla de artistas ‘Island Gravity’, trabalhando com livros de artista e exposições, entre Londres e o Porto.
